Loyola conquer mighty Kolkata

WINNER:Loyola School (Jamshedpur): Shubham Agarwal and Aviral Dasgupta

RUNNER UP: National Gems (Behala): Debarun Baneerjee and Soumyajyoti B

It was an exhilarating afternoon of high voltage quizzing at Kolkata. After a standard prelim of 20 questions, which the teams felt were tougher than the other cities, it came down to the finals. The eastern zone is always considered a tough region as teams from Jamshedpur, Durgapur, Patna and Ranchi join teams from Kolkata to battle from here.

The Finalists were…

National Gems (Behala) - Debarun Baneerjee and Soumyajyoti B
Don Bosco (Howrah) - Rajit Hazra and Subhojit Paul
Rajendra Vidyalaya(Jamshedpur) - Kishalay Raj and Avinish Ranjak
DPS (Megacity) - Saumyajit and Sayan
Kendriya Vidyalaya (Barackpore) - Himanshu Sarkar and Akshay Agarwal
Loyola School (Jamshedpur)- Shubham Agarwal and Aviral Dasgupta

The final was a very interesting battle that started with five teams scoring quickly but as the quiz moved into the next couple of rounds it became a battle between the two Jamshedpur schools for a while. The battle then was a like an Olympic race with multiple laps. As Loyola kept leading the pack round after round, the teams closing in on them kept changing.

The defending champs from Rajendra Vidyalaya, Jamshedpur did their best to catch up but could not in the final rounds as Loyola registered a well deserved victory. It is the second year in succession that schools from Tatanagar have dethroned the well known quizzing schools of Kolkata.
