TCS IT Wiz, India’s biggest IT Quiz for schools was started, in 1999 for students studying between class 8- 12. The programme aims to build awareness, and hone IT skills, so that students look at technology through a whole new perspective. IT plays an integral role in today’s society and economy and is a key enabler for success in diverse fields.
Today TCS IT Wiz has become a national benchmark in the inter-school quizzing circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the sheer participation number it draws. The quiz has received immense patronage among the student community, teachers, parents and Educational Institutions and has become part of the extra-curricular agenda of schools across the country.
The UAE edition of TCS IT Wiz held in Dubai (April 2011) marked the foray of the international edition of TCS IT Wiz
The quiz is currently held in 12 cities across India - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore,Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kochi, Lucknow, Pune and Mumbai.
The Regional Rounds will be followed by
National Finals to be held in December

The TCS IT Quiz was launched in Bangalore in August 1999 and was eventually extended to other cities in the South in 2000. The Quiz rebranded as "TCS IT Wiz" was launched in six cities in 2005.
The year 2006 witnessed an eight city event. Due to overwhelming response from other cities the quiz was extended to 11 cities in 2007. Over the years, we have witnessed high standards of quizzing, intense competition and edge-of-the-seat excitement during the event.

The Quiz strives to enhance IT awareness among students, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of Information Technology, as IT has become an integral part of our lives today and has today put India on the global map.
The TCS IT quiz platform works as an effective supplement to the computer science and IT, as most of the questions researched for the quiz are beyond the academic areas compelling the students to look beyond the text books.
1999 - The Launch
2005 - 6 cities (Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Trivandrum)
2006 - 8 cities + National finals (Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Pune, and Lucknow)
2007 - 11 cities (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Lucknow)
2008 – 2009 - 12 cities (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow and Coimbatore)
2010 - 12 cities Regional editions followed by a National Finals
2011 - First International edition of TCS IT Wiz.The UAE edition was held in Dubai in April.
